AAR Z is an Indian Hindi Rapper, Beat Maker, and Audio Engineer. Being a 90’s kid, from being heavily influenced by pop culture trends like video games and rap albums to the profound observation of life around, his music reflects blunt honesty, unique flow, and an unabashed love for music. His work is to bring Rap and Hip-Hop from niche clout to the mainstream Indian music industry. His current effort is to dissolve the boundaries of art and artist and open the possibility for artists to explore multiple art forms at once.
He has released various singles and soundtracks that are available on youtube. One of his most famous songs launched by Shemaroo, is ‘Why?’, which was a Women’s day special. The song supported women empowerment and received massive support from music lovers. The video grossed over 2.5 lakh views on YouTube and gained media attention. Newspapers like Dainik jagran, Amar ujala, rashtriya Sahara n buzz supported the song and the cause behind it. You can find his tracks on multiple platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Sound Cloud, and YouTube.
His love for Hip-Hop music began when he first listened to a song by Snoop Dogg called Nuthin’ But A “G” Thang, which was a soundtrack in GTA San Andreas. Unable to understand the language, the sheer intensity, groove, and vibe of the rapper set his heart on fire. He learned to dance naturally by grooving to the music videos of Chris Brown. Simultaneously his love for rap music held roots after listening to Jay Z, T.I., Snoop Dogg, and the likes.
Starting his journey in the entertainment industry, he began learning dancing professionally in The Big Dance Center in Delhi. Advancing with his skills and technique, he developed a more profound sense of music. Later on, he also learned in Shiamak Davar Dance Academy, dance forms like Hip-Hop, Bollywood, LA Salsa, Russian Ballet, Shamak style, and classical form.
Meeting Dsync, an underground rapper and music creator, he began learning the basics of rap music, vocal recording and lyric writing. Dsync initiated him into rap. AAR Z ascribes Dsync to be his first guru. AAR Z launched his first music video in April 2014 (Kaise Badega Ye Desh) on YouTube. Meanwhile he met Ashock (Bassholics) who is a massive influence on him. With him he learned the nooks and corners of music production and worked on a mainstream track. Apart from career, Ashock had a life enhancing influence on AAR Z.
He hit his low when he worked as a mascot for Essel World in Mumbai. He struggled to make a living and continue his passion for creating music and dance. He finally got out of the rut as he began working on various music projects. He worked as an assistant of Adrija Gupta for 3 years in a production house where he learnt recording engineering and learned client handling. Due to his excellent sense of music and writing, he earned multiple commercials to work for. Since then, he has never looked back. He created the music and gave vocals for a HistoryTV show, Flavours of Rajasthan’s commercial, Mumbai Airport Terminal commercial, and the theme song for The Swaggy Hits by Big FM 92.7. He gave music to an advertisement by Fujifilm Instax featuring Alia Bhatt. His latest work includes working as an audio engineer and music creator for a Web Series by Dice Media called ‘Operation MBBS.’ Apart from the commercial work, he has launched various singles and soundtracks on YouTube.
